Nutrition Counseling Program Overview
The individual nutrition counseling program is an education-based lifestyle and behavior change program that focuses on nutrition and food choice as the key to improving health outcomes and reducing the risk of developing preventable chronic illness. This program is not designed to deliver rapid weight loss and does not use meal-plans as an initial tool for success, although meal plans are sometimes useful and available for established nutrition clients.
WHile many participants will see a reduction in body weight over time, it is crucial to understand that this program is built on the practice of reshaping individual food choice rather than focusing solely on metrics (such as calories) and quick-fix approaches (such as meal replacement products).
Long-term, sustainable results are achieved through a blend of one-on-one nutrition counseling sessions, in-depth nutrition education content and realistic goal-setting activities.
What to expect
After a consultation is completed and a service agreement has been signed, this 12-week program will move through a carefully designed schedule that has been created in a sequenced order
(Example: content learned or discussed in week 1 will help build a better understanding in week 2)
attending scheduled sessions and completing weekly modules is a requirement for this program;however, this program is designed to be flexible and accommodating for employee schedules;therefore, in-person, virtual and hybrid sessions are available and will be discussed in the initial consulation meeting prior to the start of a new individual program.
Participants are eligible for 10 wellness credits after completing all 3 phases (12 total modules).
(non-wellness program employees may also participate in this program)
